Unlocking technical potential

The Heidelberg Materials trial confirmed that Vateris’ GypCarb product delivers strong early-age performance while maintaining long-term strength – enabling faster strength development with minimal disruption to existing mix designs.

A 40% increase in 1-day strength using only a small product addition highlights clear potential for productivity gains and cement-reduction strategies, supporting lower embodied carbon outcomes. These results closely aligned with Vateris’ in-house development programme, where Heidelberg cement is used as a standard reference across internal testing – reinforcing confidence that the performance is repeatable and not a one-off result.

The success of the trial enabled deeper engagement with Heidelberg Materials UK, supporting discussions with senior leadership and leading to a formalised cement supply relationship for ongoing testing and mix optimisation. The focus now is on extending these validated results into broader applications and long-term industrial deployment.
